Riverhead Town Police have arrested a youth who they caught painting MS-13 gang graffiti on the walls of an Elton Street business late last night.

Riverhead Town Police C.O.P.E. Unit officers observed observed two people painting graffiti on the walls of the True Tech building on Elton Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday night, police said in a press release.

Both subjects fled on foot when police officers attempted to apprehend them, according to the report. Police said they later located one of the suspects on Phillips Street. The second person has not been apprehended at this time, police said.

Manuel Fuentes Lopez, age 16, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with making graffiti, a class A misdemeanor under N.Y. State Penal Law.
