Dorothy A. Mazzola, a resident of Calverton since 2003, died May 13, 2015 at Riverhead Care Center. She was 83 years old.

Mazzola was born February 15, 1932 in Brooklyn to Charles Carnesi and Ann Miglione. She went on to attend Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn.

She worked as a clerk and typist at Sachem High School for 15 years. In her free time Mazzola enjoyed bingo, photography and shopping.

She is predeceased by her brother Charles Carnesi and sister Marie Murphy. Mazzola is survived by her children, John L. Mazzola of Wading River, Janet Mazzola of Sound Beach, Carol Pacileo of Happauge; sister Nina Baitaglia of Lake Ronkonkoma and four grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday May 17 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home. A service will be held on Monday, May 18 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
