UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of New York presented the North Fork Spanish Apostolate with a community grant for $25,000 on Friday, May 15. The grant will fund literacy and health advocacy programs.

“Not enough positive things can be said about the work that Sister Margaret does here in the community,” Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter said of Sister Margaret Smyth.

NFSA provides support for more than 17,000 residents in the Riverhead-Greenport area to help address health, education and financial issues in an effort to help them and their families live healthier lives. UnitedHealthcare’s grant program provides funding to organizations addressing health, education and housing issues in local communities.
