Arthur C. Johnson, of Riverhead, died on May 21, 2015. He was 83 years old.
He was born on December 19, 1931 in Brooklyn to Louis and Jennie Johnson. He graduated from Smithtown High School, after which he served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He then went on to work as a general contractor for Johnson Construction.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Riverhead VFW. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
He is survived by his children Cindy Johnson of Mount Siani, Roy Johnson of Riverhead, Laura Baum of Calverton, Susan Johnson of Shirley, Wendy Johnson of Calverton and Kris McMackin of Virginia, as well as 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Calverton National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Good Shepard Hospice.
