Riverhead teachers will host the second “Scoop for Scholarships” fundraiser at Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices to benefit elementary scholarships on Sunday, June 14 from 12 to 3 p.m. Not only will customers get to choose from dozens of sweet options, they will also get to see their favorite teachers “Scoop for Scholarships”.

Riverhead Central Faculty Association (RCFA) members are volunteering their time to raise money for the RCFA Scholarship Fund. For every purchase during those three hours, an RCFA member will scoop and Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices will generously donate to the fund.

“We had a fabulous time with the RCFA fundraiser in September, and we are thrilled to be able to give back Riverhead’s elementary students again,” said Frank LoPresti, co-owner with Melany Halliwell of Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices of Riverhead. “This is a terrific event.”

All monies raised at this event will be earmarked for elementary scholarships to arts and other enrichment programs. Twenty teachers participated in the event in September and more than $600 was raised.

“It was an easy decision to make,” said Heather Jablonsky, RCFA Executive Board Member and event organizer, of holding “Scoop for Scholarships” again. “Frank and Melany at Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices are fabulous community partners and this is a great benefit to the elementary students of the Riverhead Central School District.”
