Geraldine A. Hamill died peacefully on June 19, 2015 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 80 years old.
Born on Sept. 7, 1934 in Jamaica, Queens, she was a Columbiette for over 30 years. She served as a volunteer at the Riverhead First Congregational Church Bread and More INN (soup kitchen) for years, impacting numerous lives in ways that cannot be measured. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead.
Predeceased by her husband Robert J. Hamill in 1979, she is survived by her three sons, Robert (Ruth), Patrick, and Michael (Michelle), grandchildren, Amy, Bobby, Parker, Kayleigh, Ashley and Courtney and her siblings, Elizabeth Miles, Mary Cannon, Eileen Broiche and Thomas Uhlinger.
Funeral services will be held at Sinnickson’s Moriches Funeral Home, 203 Main Street, Center Moriches on Sunday, June 21 (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.) and Monday, June 22 (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Interment at Calverton National Cemetery will be private at a later date.
