Columbus Redden of Aquebogue died on July 17, 2015. He was 90 years old.

He was born in Georgia on January 6, 1925. He worked at Crescent Duck Farm for 43 years, from January 1971 to January 2014. He served in the United States Army from November 1944 to June 1946.

Redden enjoyed gardening, fishing and raising chickens and livestock.

He was predeceased by his stepson Michael Grigg in 2009. He is survived by his partner, Alease Stovall Griggn, of Aquebogue; his son, Carl Washington, of Florida; his stepchildren, Malcolm Grigg of Riverhead, Karen Grigg of Coram, George Grigg of Coram, David Grigg of Coram, Susan Grigg of Patchogue, Kevin Grigg of Port Jefferson and Charles Grigg of Maryland as well as 16 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. A funeral procession will meet at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. and proceed to Calverton National Cemetery for burial with military honors.
