Elizabeth A. Mueller of Southold died at her home on August 1. She was 77 years old.

She was born on September 5, 1937 in Huntington to Clara (nee Teepe) and Theodore Engbert and was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and Immaculate College.

On May 28, 1960, she married Gus Mueller and together they made their home in Huntington Station. She has been a resident of the North Fork for the past thirty-five years.

Betty retired as a Social worker for the County of Suffolk after twenty-five years.

She was a member of the Red Hatters and North Fork Chorale and was a communicant of St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport.

She is survived by her husband, Gus; three children, Kenneth Mueller of Mineola, Donna Magill of Miller Place and David Mueller of Wayne, NJ, and six grandchildren, Caroline, Christopher, Lauryn, Tomas, Joseph and Clara. She was predeceased by her sister, Loretta Engbert.

Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Greenport. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s R.C. Cemetery in Southold.
