Helen Yakaboski of Calverton died at her home on August 2, 2015 . She was 89 years old.

She was born in Riverhead on March 2, 1926 the daughter of William and Mary (Zambriski) Condzella.

Yakaboski was a homemaker and worked in the kitchen at Riverhead High School. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and cooking, especially making jams and jellies.

Predeceased by her husband, Albin, in 1991, she is survived by her children Albin of Louisiana, David of Riverhead, Theresa Hawkes of North Carolina, George of Riverhead, Richard of Calverton, Anne Barnes of Riverhead and Christine Scott of Maine; brothers Bill and Antone Condzella of Wading River; sister Margaret Dudek of Mattituck as well as 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church. Interment will follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Isidore Church and the Alzheimers Association.
