It wouldn’t be summer without the traditional community barbecues that highlight the season each year around town. Yesterday was the Elks’ turn to fire up the charcoals. Lobster, chicken, fresh corn and more filled trays and tummies at the organization’s annual backyard barbecue.

Lodge members cooked up 200 lobsters and 256 chicken-halves, said grill master Joe Jarzombeck.

Joe Hampton and the Kingpins provided musical entertainment.
