(Updated: 12:30 p.m.) A fight involving a baseball bat at a Route 58 bar last night led to the arrest of two Riverhead men, one of whom fled the scene before being apprehended, police said.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance at Sabor Latino on Route 58 around 3:39 a.m. this morning. Three women from Roosevelt – ages 22, 31 and 34 – reported being struck by two men, one of whom was armed with a baseball bat, police said.

One of the men, Marlon Muyus-Boror of Riverhead, was present at the scene when officers arrived. The other man, Carlos Muyus-Boror of Riverhead, fled the area, but was apprehended by police a short distance away.

Marlon Muyus-Boror, 28, was arrested for assault in the second degree. Carlos Muyus-Boror, 42, was arrested for harassment in the second degree.

One of the female victims was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Both men were arraigned at Riverhead Justice Court this morning. Marlon Muyus-Boror was released on $1000 bail; Carlos Muyus-Boror was released on $500 bail.

This is not the first violent incident to take place at Sabor Latino. The bar, which is located in the Department of Motor Vehicles shopping center, was the last place a 29-year-old woman was seen in 2012 before her body was found the next morning in a nearby wooded area. Guillermo Alfonso Alvarado Ajcuc, who was convicted of her death last year, is currently serving a sentence of 25 years to life for two counts of second-degree murder.

The bar was also the scene of a brawl in 2012 that sent several men to the hospital.
