Riverhead Police are searching for a man that robbed a Riverhead gas station at gunpoint last night.
The man, described as in his early twenties and wielding a handgun, entered the Citgo gas station at the corner of Osborne Avenue and Route 58 at around 8:30 p.m. and demanded money from the register. He was given cash and fled on foot, according to a police press release.
Riverhead Police and K9 units conducted a search of the area but were unable to find the subject.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information is requested to contact the Riverhead Police Department at (631)727-4500 ext. 313.
