More than 600 runners participated in the Jamesport Fire Department Sound to Bay 10K and 5K run/walk this morning.

Runners in the 10K race started out at Iron Pier Beach and made their way to the finish line at the South Jamesport town beach.

Angel Confessor of Brooklyn was the first runner in the 10K to cross the finish line with a time of 35:33.9. Joe Rizzo of Aquebogue finished second, posting a time of 37:58.6. Trent Hampton of West Babylon came in third.

Ellen Dougherty of Wading River was the first female to cross the finish line. Placing third overall, she finished in 39:54.6.

In the 5K run/walk, Graham Rainsby of Brooklyn and East Moriches finished at 17:18.3. Melanie Pfennig of Cutchogue, the first female across the finish line, came in with a time of 20:08.
