John Walter Toepfert of Jamesport died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home. He was 82 years old and a retired firefighter with the FDNY.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church. Interment, with U.S. Army honors, will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jamesport Fire Department, P.O. Box 54, Jamesport, NY 11947 would be appreciated.
