Marinell T. Smith of Riverhead died on August 24, 2015. The former long- time Westhampton resident was 89 years old.
She was born on September 21, 1925 in Clovis, New Mexico to Pearl Nellie (nee Jackson) and John W. Thompson. She was the widow of retired Major Joe H. Smith, Jr. of the United States Air Force who died on August 11, 2008; grandmother of CandaceJoe Jacobs of Mattituck and KimberlyJoe Jones of Virginia; great-grandmother of Jonathan and Megan Jacobs and mother-in-law of Robert Reilly of East Moriches. She was predeceased by her daughter, MariJoe Reilly on August 6, 2005.
Interment services will take place on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Calverton National Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.
