A pair of accidents about 30 minutes apart kept Riverhead Police busy late Wednesday afternoon.

The first crash, at the intersection of Horton and Reeves avenues just before 4 p.m. sent two people to Peconic Bay Medical Center. Their injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded.

A Toyota westbound on Reeves Avenue entered the intersection in the path of a northbound Volvo, according to police at the scene. Neither vehicle carried any passengers.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
