Judith Hernandez died at her home in East Moriches on August 26, 2015. She was 75 years old.

Born on September 21, 1939 in Queens, she was the daughter of John and Mildred Rascoll.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Sunrest Nursing Home in Port Jefferson for 27 years. She lived in Wading River for 31 years before moving to East Moriches five months ago.

A mother of five, she loved spending time with her family. Every Mother’s Day, she and her children enjoyed visiting Orient Beach State Park to celebrate the holiday.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Hernandez Jr., her sister Janet Miller, and her five children: John Hernandez, Laurie Spruck, Frank Hernandez III, Gabrielle Costantino and Joanna Hernandez. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home on Friday, August 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, August 29 at 11 a.m.

Donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice.
