Students in grades 7 through 12 who are interested in planning trips and events, doing community service projects and making friends with students from other schools are invited to sign up for the Southampton Yough Advisory Committee (YAC).

The YAC is looking for new members to help make a difference in your community. Community service projects may include leaf raking for senior citizens, hosting a blood drive, meeting with elected officials from Albany for youth causes, or other activities that can make a difference in the community.

The Youth Advisory Committee is a way to get involved and earn community service credit hours during the school year. Meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of the month beginning Sept. 15 at the Hampton Bays Community Center located at 25 Ponquogue Avenue, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

For more information or to register visit the Southampton Yough Bureau website or call 631-702-2421. To learn more about all of our programs and events, find the Southampton Yough Bureau on Facebook and follow them on Instagram and Twitter @southamptonyb.
