A Riverhead man who pleaded guilty in June to rape and sexual assault charges involving a child was sentenced this week to four months imprisonment and 10 years probation.

Shawn Foreman, 34, arrested Sept. 1, 2014, was free on $25,000 bond since Oct. 3, 2014.

Suffolk County Criminal Court Judge Barbara Kahn imposed the sentence on Tuesday, when the judge also issued an order of protection, according to online court records. The court also imposed surcharges and fees of $1,375. Foreman remains free on $25,000 bond pending his next court date Dec. 8 for a mandatory surcharge hearing.

Foreman was indicted on Sept. 5, 2014 on charges of rape in the second degree, a class D felony, sexual assault in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He was accused of  having sexual intercourse with a child younger than age 15 during August 2013 and of sexual contact without consent of a person younger than age 18.

Foreman was represented by Riverhead attorney Lane Bubka, of the Bubka Law Group.
