Eleanor V. O’Connell of Jamesport died September 18, 2015 at Stony Brook University Hospital. She was 80 years old.
Born in the Bronx on June 1, 1935, she was the daughter of Stephen and Sarah (Walsh) O’Connell.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed her work as literacy volunteer.
She is survived by Gil Feldstein, of Patchogue and by her children: Diane Mattheus, of South Carolina, Daniel Mattheus, of Holbrook, Jill Dejewski of Jamesport and Tracy Doxey of Sayville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore’s R.C. Church in Riverhead.
