Woman and one-year-old sent to Stony Brook after collision

A woman and a one-year-old baby were sent to Stony Brook University hospital after a two-car collision in Wading River this morning.

Shortly after 10 a.m., a woman driving a Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on 25A attempted to make a left turn onto Sound Avenue and collided with a man operating a westbound Chevrolet Silverado, police at the scene said.

The woman was transported to Stony Brook University hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The child, who was uninjured in the crash, was transported with her for observation, police said. Wading River Fire Department Ambulance and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corp. responded to the scene.
