Gregg B. Pettersen of Riverhead died on September 24, 2015 at Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 64 years old.
Born on May 26, 1951 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Thor and Mary (Belski) Pettersen. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1969 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. He worked as a machinist at KG Brown in Mattituck, and enjoyed fishing, crafts, darts and golf in his free time.
Predeceased by his mother, Mary, in 2001, he is survived by his father, Thor Pettersen of Vermont; children Frank Jarzomber of Flanders, Gregg Jr. of Jamesport and Kristina of Flanders; sisters Karen Pettersen of Vermont and Laura Woodhull of Cutchogue as well as one grandchild.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:30 at Calverton National Cemetery.
