A Calverton gas station was robbed at gunpoint late last night, according to Suffolk County Police.

The incident occurred at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday at the Exxon gas station on Edwards Avenue, police said.

A man displayed a hand gun to a cashier and demanded money, according to police. He then fled on foot southbound down Edwards Avenue.

Police searched the area with a K9 unit and a helicopter, but the suspect was not located.

Police have no other details about the suspect’s description at this time.

No one was injured in the incident.

This is the second time in recent years this gas station has been robbed at gunpoint.
