Maxine A. Turns of Riverhead died on September 30 at Westhampton Care Center. She was 93 years old.
Born on on December 29, 1921, she was the daughter of Walter Barber and Maxine Barker.
She was predeceased by her husband, Loy S. Turns, in 2007. She is survived by her daughters, Dianna Kmetz of Florida and Maxine Utter of Riverhead; son Walter Turns of upstate New York, as well as eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 4 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
