Update 2:15 p.m.: “Minnie” has been reunited with her family.
She escaped from her backyard on Rabbit Run early this morning and took off toward Doctors Path, but she was found hours later on Mill Road. The person who found her was a Kent animal shelter board member, said Matt Suprina of Riverhead.
“She brought her to Kent and they looked on RiverheadLOCAL and that’s how they identified her,” he said.
Suprina said his family is very grateful for all the support from the community, with so many people sharing the post and some even going out to look for the tiny gray and white peeka-poo.
“My mom is very attached to Minnie,” Suprina said. “She was very upset.”
