The Riverhead Police Benevolent Association will host a fundraiser to benefit the Ristau and Runnalls families, two local families who lost their homes and all their possessions in two devastating fires in August. (See stories here and here.)

The fundraising event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at PeraBell Food Bar, with all proceeds going to Gina and Gary Ristau of Aquebogue and Amy and Michael Runnalls of Calverton. Admission is $20 at the door. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar.

There will also be a chinese auction. (Tickets will be sold for $5 each, three for $10, and 10 for $20.) Prizes include gift certificates for dinner, golf rounds at several area courses, wine baskets from several area wineries and a basket from LiV.

“The men and women of the Riverhead Police Department respond to tragic events as part of our job, and we are always wondering, is there another way we can help,” said PBA vice president John Morris.

“Our hope is that this will help them get back onto their feet. Please come out and join us for some light fare and cocktails,” he said.

“Please remember to drink responsibly, and do not drink and drive,” he added.

PeraBell Food Bar is located at 65 East Main St. in Riverhead.
