Election day is approaching fast. Get to know the candidates running for town government with RiverheadLOCAL’s 2015 Election Guide.

We sat down for three minutes with each candidate so that you can quickly get to know who they are, what’s important to them and what they would each bring to Riverhead Town.

Four questions – Who are you? What is your greatest accomplishment? What sets you apart from the other candidates? What are the biggest issues facing the town? – were emailed to the candidates in advance. They were told they would have 30 seconds to answer each question.

These videos focus more on the candidates than the issues – that way, you can get to know them on a more personal level than you might on the campaign trail.

Our election guide also includes all of our election coverage, a calendar of upcoming public debates and short bios of each candidate running for elected office.

So get informed and get out to vote on Tuesday, November 3. Local elections tend to be where your voice has the most impact – only 7,993 people (or 38 percent of registered Riverhead voters) turned out to vote in the last election in 2013.
