An Amityville man has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of a man whose body was found burning in a wooded area on the side of the road in Manorville Thursday.

Bryan Rosales-Mejia, 21, was charged with murder in the second degree for the death of German Guzman, also of Amityville, and arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip this morning.

Guzman, 36, was found on the Otis Pike Preserve in Manorville Thursday around 1:45 p.m. when a passing motorist traveling on Wading River Manor Road noticed a fire on the side of the road and discovered it was a burning body.

(Updated 10/21, 10:40 a.m.): Police have made a second arrest in connection with the death; Orlen Soliz-Galvez, 18, of Amityville, was arrested Oct. 20 by Suffolk homicide detectives and charged with second-degree murder.
