A landscaping truck traveling westbound on Flanders Road, near Spinney Road, caught Thursday tonight at about 8 o’clock.

The fire started in the truck’s engine compartment, said Flanders Fire Chief Joseph Pettit. Flames engulfed the engine compartment and the cab and caused the front tires of the truck to explode, he said.

The driver of the vehicle said smoke started coming out of the engine compartment, so he pulled over and got out. No one was injured in the incident.
