Southampton Town Police detectives have charged a 50-year-old Riverside man in the rash of vehicle break-ins in the Riverside/Flanders area.
Police arrested Anthony Jenkins after he was caught stealing soup and hot dogs from Marta’s Deli in Riverside, according to a police report. He was charged with two counts of petit larceny in that incident as well as two counts of criminal mischief for breaking into cars, police said.
Jenkins smashed the windows of the cars on Riverside Avenue, Flanders Road, Brookhaven Avenue, and Albany Avenue and stole money from the cars.
Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
