Edward P. Sydlowski of Jamesport died Nov. 27 2015 at the Riverhead Care Center. He was 90 years old.
Born June 12, 1925, he was the son of John and Lena Sydlowski. He spent his life farming in Jamesport, a pursuit that he loved as much as he loved his Polish heritage. He enjoyed in particular traditional Polish dances.
He was predeceased by his wife Jeannette in 1993 and by a grandson, Stephen Stakey in 2008. He is survived by his children, Patricia Ruma of Pennsylvania, Arlene Santerre of Florida, Edward Jr. of North Carolina, and Catherine Stakey of Laurel. He is also survived by his brothers, Alex and Stanley of Jamesport, his sister Jennie Macksel of Greenport, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Avenue, Riverhead on Sunday, Nov. 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, Nov. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore’s R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery.
