The Peconic Bay Power Squadron will present “Weather”, the full eight-session course on forecasting and understanding
weather.

The first class starts at 7 pm on 21 February 2012 at the George Young Community Center in Jamesport.

Weather can cause safety issues on land, but for boaters the potential hazards can be even more serious. Students will become keen weather observers and learn the principles of meteorology.2012_0122_power_squadron_weather

The course focuses on how weather systems form, behave, move, and interact with one another and reflects the availability of all sorts of weather reports and forecasts on the Internet. It is a general weather course benefiting those sitting in their living rooms, as much as those standing behind the helm. The complex subject of weather is presented in a way that is both understandable and useful.

The George Young Community Center is located at the corner of Rt. 25 and Jamesport Ave. in Jamesport.

There is a $75.00 fee which includes the course manual, and a waterproof quick guide. To learn more or to reserve your space, call Peter Young at 631-298-4326 or visit www.PBPS.us
