Bishop McGann-Mercy Diocesan High School will be hosting a viewing of the the award-winning inspirational movie sponsored by CFCA (Christian Foundation for Children and Aging) on September 26 called “Rise and Dream.” Members of the McGann-Mercy family have worked closely with CFCA through its child sponsorship program and their missions to El Salvador.

Rise and Dream is about a group of 13 students from a volatile region in the Philippines who “accept a challenge to learn their own cultural instruments to perform on the biggest stage of their lives. Rise and Dream takes the viewer through the rigor of their rehearsals, and into the homes and hearts of this most unlikely student band.”

After the movie, there will be an opportunity to speak with some of the participants in the film, as well as members of the Mercy family (students, faculty and alumni) who have been touched by their work with CFCA in El Salvador.

The showing will take place on Thursday, September 26th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.
