The East End Arts Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for artist participation in the upcoming juried, all media art show, Line, at the East End Arts Gallery, opening with a reception on Friday, April 25 and running through June 13, 2014. The call is open to all artists to submit work that depicts the use of shadow. The guest jurors for this show are Hideaki Ariizumi, AIA, architect, artist, and owner of ArtSites Gallery in Riverhead, and artist Debbie Ma. The East End Arts Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY.
Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists: “A torso by Matisse, a curve by Brancusi, a hand or a flower photographed by Stieglitz or Mapplethorpe, a Sumi-e brushstroke – artistic mastery is much evident in the exquisite, simple line.” Original works in all media may be submitted,including: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry; up to three entries can be submitted per artist.
Visual art entries will be accepted on Thursday, April 17 from 10 AM to 4 PM; Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the East End Arts Gallery. For all size and entry requirements and details: view the full prospectus.

The “Best in Show” winner of this show will be one of several artists who will participate in the East End Arts Gallery’s Winners’ Show in the Fall of 2015. First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mentions will also be awarded.
An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, April 25 from 5 PM to 7 PM, when guests will have an opportunity to meet the artists. This free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
