On Thursday, March 6, the tenth annual fundraiser for Cornell University’s Long Island Horticulture Research & Extension Center in Riverhead will be held to support the student intern fund and horticultural research.
Digger O’Dell’s Restaurant at 58 W. Main St. in Riverhead will give the research and extension center all of the income that is collected from the meals that night. Digger’s has been involved with the agricultural industry on Long Island for many years, knows the struggles of the farmer, and understands the importance of Cornell University’s local presence. They are pleased to be able to support the Long Island agricultural community with this activity. The Long Island Farm Bureau, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, CCE of Nassau County, and Cornell University are all supporting this endeavor.
There will be a large buffet dinner served for $20 per person from 6 to 9 p.m. (Reservations are not taken.) The bar will remain open until midnight. “Celebrity Bartenders” from the horticultural industry will be donating their time to entertain the diners, assist the bartenders, and encourage a great time! Be sure to come and make them work!
Take your family to Digger’s Restaurant for dinner on Thursday, March 6, and enjoy the fellowship of your fellow agriculturalists and horticulturists while supporting science and research. You’ll have a great time! Call 727-3595 if you have any questions.
