Riverhead Police called in help from five other police agencies to put down a large disturbance on North Oakland Drive overnight Sunday.

Police were called to the scene just after midnight. They found a crowd of "750 unruly youths congregating in the streets, blocking traffic and acting disorderly," according to a news release issued Sunday morning.

Police were on scene for more than two hours, trying to control the situation and break up the crowd, they said. Police broke up numerous fights throughout the incident, but no injuries were reported and no arrests were made, according to the report.

Riverhead Police called in Southampton Police, New York State Police, state park police, county park police and Suffolk County Police for assistance.

On July 4, 2011 a large brawl in the same neighborhood sent two women to the hospital with stab wounds. Two other women were arrested and charged with second degree assault in the incident.
