One person was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center Friday evening after a two-car accident at the intersection of Ostrander Avenue and Second Street.
Police said the driver of a Ford Crown Victoria was northbound on Ostrander Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. when the driver of a Ford Fusion, eastbound on Second Street, entered the intersection and the vehicles collided. The front bumper was ripped off the Crown Victoria and the Fusion sustained rear quarter panel and back door damage to the passenger side.
There was a driver and one passenger in each vehicle. Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to transport one occupant from the Fusion to PBMC for minor injuries.
