A local independent filmmaker is seeking an actors for an upcoming short film.
Nicholas Levasseur, of Flanders, will be shooting the film in Eastport in August. It tells the story of a young woman and her brother who stay alone in their mother's house for the weekend, unaware of the killer hiding inside.
"It's a great opportunity for a new actor to get their name out there," said Levasseur, a 2007 Riverhead High School graduate. "We're looking for someone without a lot of experience."
Levasseur plans to submit the currently untitled thriller to film festivals later this year, followed by a public release on the internet.
Levasseur is seeking a Caucasian female, age 18-24 and male, age 16-18, for the lead roles. He's also looking for a female in her 40s to play their mother and a male in his 50s for the role of detective. The job will include transportation and food during the shoot, Levasseur said.
