Preserve it Right! Canning and Preserving Workshops Offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk

The Eat Smart New York Program at Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Suffolk is pleased to announce the return of our very popular canning and preserving classes this summer.

Preserve it Right! is a series of workshops held from July through October. Participants will learn safe, science-based USDA methods for preserving fresh produce.  Canning and storing jars of fresh food allows us that fresh-picked taste all year long!

Classes will be held at 423 Griffing Avenue in Riverhead on Saturdays, July 14, August 11, September 15 and October 13 from 9:30 am to noon. Cost is $20 per class. Pre-registration is required. Classes, taught by CCE nutrition educator Maryann Birmingham, fill up quickly.

To register, call 631-727-7850, ext. 356.
