A Calverton woman has been charged with diving while intoxicated after Southold Police observed her turn the wrong way down a one-way street in Greenport early Friday morning.

Police said they saw Mary Lindsey, 23, turn the wrong way onto a one-way street at 12:01 Friday morning in Greenport. Lindsey also failed to signal, police said.

She was determined to be intoxicated, arrested and held at Southold Police headquarters for morning arraignment.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. By law, a person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
