There was step-dancing and pipe-playing and lots of wearing of the green at the Riverhead Lions Club annual corned beef and cabbage dinner Saturday night at Polish Hall.

The hall was packed for the club’s annual St. Patrick’s Day soirée, a fundraiser for the club’s charitable activities. Club members cooked and served 225 dinners of corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes and carrots. The club supports local college scholarships and donations to local causes like the Brendan House home for traumatic brain injury survivors, to which the Riverhead Lions donated $4,000 this year and has committed an ongoing annual contribution.

Dancers from the InishFree School of Irish Dance provided entertainment.
