East End Arts’ Live on the Vine Winterfest pre-festival event kicked off the seventh annual wine and concert festival with a celebration that drew more than 500 people to the Suffolk Theater last night.
The party, which was co-hosted hosted by Suffolk County National Bank and Edible East End, featured wine from local vineyards and music from local bands and musicians. Entertainment was provided by Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks, Bakithi Kumalo and Mambo Loco.
The party was a kickoff to the six-week music festival Live on the Vine Winterfest, a concert and wine series held in East End vineyard tasting rooms, hotels, theaters and other venues from February 8 through March 16. See schedule here.
Getaway packages, special offers on hotels and bed and breakfasts and winery tours are all offered as part of the festival. The name of the festival has been changed from “Jazz on the Vine” because the events this year will feature other genres of music, including blues, soul and country.
For a full calendar of events, see the Long Island Winterfest website.
