
Riverhead Blue Waves League III champions host Patchogue-Medford in the first round of Suffolk AA girls basketball playoffs today at 5 p.m. at Riverhead High School.
The No. 3 Waves finished the regular season undefeated in league play (12-0) and 17-1 overall.
No. 14 Patchogue-Medford (8-6 in League I, 10-6 overall) blew past East Islip 41-16 in an out-bracket game Friday night.
If the Waves win today's game, they play their next game on Wednesday (time to be determined), hosting the winner of a game today between No. 11 Kings Park and No. 6 Ward Melville.
