Eastern Long Island Hospital has announced the appointment of Joseph M. Pufahl to the Board of Trustees Class of 2011.  

Joe is part of the executive leadership team at Adchem Corporation in Riverhead.  Adchem engineers and manufactures high performance adhesive tape products for automotive, construction, graphic art, medical, and transportation markets.  Guiding the company’s marketing and business development efforts he has created strategic partnerships with global paper, foam, film and equipment suppliers while building new products and channels of sales and distribution.

 “Joe’s professional experience in business planning and product development will be invaluable to the Board at Eastern Long Island Hospital,” states Paul J. Connor, III, President/CEO.  “He is well respected for his community involvement and has devoted over 35  years to corporate management and marketing.”

 Joe currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Mattituck Lions Club and is an active member of the American Architectural Management Association (AAMA) where he chairs task forces on expanded cellular materials and chemical compatibility.  His extensive community organization and professional memberships include serving as Founder and Board Director of the Mattituck-Cutchogue Fund for Students, Chair of the North Fork Food and Wine Festival, formers President of the Long Island Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, Board of Directors of Riverhead Rotary, Co-director of the North Fork Foot Race and Co-director of the Paumanok Triathlon.
 
Pufahl holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Manhattan College.  He served as a Trustee for the Village of Greenport and was a member of the Greenport Village Zoning Board of Appeals.

Year round residents of Cutchogue, Joe and his wife Sandy enjoy spending time with family.  Joe’s interests include reading, bicycling, creative writing and sailing.
