An epilepsy support group will be held at Peconic Bay Medical Center on Monday, January 13 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The support group will offer a place for people with epilepsy to meet others who have dealt with similar challenges and to find comfort, empowerment and acceptance in sharing those experiences, according to a PBMC press release.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that makes people susceptible to seizures. Epilepsy and seizures affect nearly three million Americans of all ages, and nearly 10 percent of Americans experience a seizure in their lifetimes, according to the Epilepsy Foundation.

The group will be held in Conference Room A on the second floor of the hospital. Friends and family members are welcome.
