Peconic Bay Medical Center will be having a Stroke Support Group meeting on Friday, December 20, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disabilities in the United States. A stroke is a life-changing event that can affect your emotional well being as much as your physical function.
In addition to providing social opportunities, support groups promote wellness by helping members with making difficult decisions, problem solving and locating local resources. There will be presentations and information from guest speakers who specialize in physical therapy, occupational therapy and nutrition.
The support group will meet in Conference Room C on the second floor of Peconic Bay Medical Center, 1300 Roanoke Avenue, Riverhead.
