Mill Road will be closed at the rail road crossing tomorrow (Saturday) April 12, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for track work by the MTA.
MTA work crews will be opening up the road just south of the railroad tracks to bury conduit pipes there, according to an MTA crew foreman on scene this morning. Workers are installing two underground vaults at the crossing.
There will be no through-traffic from Main Street north on Mill Road tomorrow while work is in progress, Riverhead Police Chief David Hegermiller said. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route, he said.
