Catherine T. Seewald of Orient Point & Glendale, Queens died at The Hospice Inn in Melville on January 3, 2012. She was 86 years old.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 2, 1925 to Ernest and Catherine (nee Hauck) Otto.
In her free time, she enjoyed growing tomatoes, knitting, fishing and scalloping.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Seewald; five children: John Seewald of Somers Point, NJ, James of Melville, Thomas of Pa., Cathleen Vega of Dover, De. and Kenneth of Malvern, Pa.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Seewald.
The family will receive friends on Thursday and Friday from 4-8 p.m. both days at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes R.C. Church with Father Thomas P. Murray officiating with the assistance of the Ministry of Consolation. Interment will follow at the Cutchogue Cemetery.
