Nineteen-year-old Gaven Cizmeli of Jamesport died Dec. 25, 2011 in an upstate hospital.
Cizmeli was critically injured in a single-car accident on Manor Lane on Aug. 6, 2010 and had been hospitalized since.
Cizmeli was born Jan. 31, 1992 and attended Riverhead High School.
He is survived by his parents, Kathleen and Hikmet Cizmeli. A private funeral service has already been held.
His family said they extend their thanks the Riverhead Town Police, Riverhead Fire Department, the Riverhead Ambulance Corps and all the other first responders who assisted at the crash scene.
