Margaret Szczepanik, of Riverhead, died June 9, 2012 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 93 years old.
Born Nov. 20, 1918 in Perth Amboy, N.J., she was the daughter of John and Pauline (Gasir) Trzeciakowski.
Mrs. Szczepanik worked as a cottage monitor at Little Flower in Wading River. She enjoyed activities at the Riverhead Senior Center. She enjoyed bingo and telling jokes, her family said.
Predeceased by her husband Edwin in 2001, she is survived by a son, Dr. Edwin Szczepanik, of Orlando, Fla., a daughter, Bernice Phillips, of Mattituck, and a sister, Elizabeth Bolanowski, of California.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 14, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Ave., Riverhead. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, June 15 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore's R.C. Church, 622 Pulaski St., Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
